POSITION: Brentwood Buyer
REPORTS TO: Emerging Brands Executive
REQUIREMENTS
- Matric
- Relevant diploma or degree in Textiles/Design/Clothing Purchasing
- 3 – 5 years’ design or buying experience in Men’s Footwear, Apparel & Accessories
- 3 – 5 years sourcing & product development experience (not selecting)
- Design or range compilation experience in Men’s Footwear Apparel & Accessories (desirable)
- Analytical & Excel skills
- Good communication skills
- Honesty, integrity and good work ethics
- Dependability
- Be self-motivated
- High energy levels
Some of the key performance areas will include the following:
- Ensure that brand positioning, differentiation market segmentation and pricing is in line with merchandise strategies
- Effective and thorough presentation of seasonal collections in reviews, laydowns and post seasonal
- Ensure that the Business Units Executive is kept up to date on all progress
- Analyze Good & Bad sellers weekly & present monthly
- Assessment of proto samples and fit samples together with QA
- Following dates as set out on the Critical path
- Utilization of seasonal buy plans and Master
- Conducts store visits
- Delivery tracking
- Collaboration with the sales reps to gain relevant market feedback
- Ensure input margins are in line
- Monitor Stock levels
- Monitor departmental expenses
- Adhering to international buy cycles as set the relevant brand
- Investigate procurement with direct suppliers internationally
- Cross costing to ensure most competitive prices
- Attend supplier meetings
- Implement trading terms, service level agreements, contracts and compliance documents as per Skye objectives
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships
- Ensure exposure and up to date with the latest trends through use of internet, tradeshows, magazines and travel
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships
- Assessment of proto samples and fit samples together with QA
- Prioritizes work effectively and efficiently takes responsibility for own actions and accountability for his or her work
- Effective and Efficient communication with stakeholders
- Keep management up to date with relevant information
